FAQ

How do you approach Photography?

Unless told I have creative freedom, I need some visual representation of your vision. I'm an adaptive photographer, which means I don't have a singular, one-size-fits-all, approach. No two people have the same story and/or taste so I try and take the time to get to know how somebody would best like to be represented in their photos. Maybe a client needs corporate head shots, or head shots for their acting career. The approach to solve both these problems could be radically different depending on the demand. The better informed I am of what is needed, the better I can perform to meet those needs. Every shoot I take on is a challenge and learning experience. That's the real beauty of this craft.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in South Florida, but travel is not an issue. I can be in LA, New York, Portugal or Japan without hesitation. However, should travel be required, the travel expenses need to be covered or they will be worked into the final price. Maybe you need me to follow you on your journey. That can be arranged with proper timing and scheduling. Check booking, however, the deposit asked for, in the case of Travel, is a rough estimate given past experiences.

When will we get our photos?

I keep my client list low so I can deliver photos quickly and efficiently. Turn-around time is a huge factor with photographers so depending on the amount I'm required to edit photos will determine the amount of time it will take for me to deliver the photos. Event photography with 500+ photos can be done quicker in some cases than Fashion photography that requires an intense level of care per photo. I provide time estimates upon completion of each shoot base solely on the demands of the client. If I'm able to get good quality shots on location, that has a huge impact on how quickly I can edit them. Also, how much I have to edit the subject impacts the editing time as well. I tend to over-estimate the time required and shoot to deliver well before deadline. It is better to under-promise and over deliver if minimum can't be met due to unforeseen circumstances.

How many pictures will we receive?

The amount of photos you receive depends solely on what you're asking for. Editing time is charged so you get what you pay for. Whatever your budget allots for will determine how many photos you get. Before we agree on pricing and the scope of the work, the amount of photos and an estimate of time and cost will be proposed to each client. My editing process happens in stages where clients have the ability to make changes in the first stages of the proofing process so they get an idea of what direction their photos are going before the entire set has applied edits.

Do you Shoot anything but People?

I am willing to take on any project, but should the project be outside my field of expertise then I may take it on at a reduced rate because I cannot guarantee results. I don't shrink from artistic challenges, but there have been times I have done pro-bono work sheerly for the experience to see the nature of the work. If I don't think I can do it at a professional level, I will let you know outright. Don't be afraid to ask, the worst I will say is "Unfortunately, I cannot."

Quoting Editing Time?

I like to separate my editing time quotes into three or four tiers when I get a bid for a job. I can work with nearly any budget, but I cannot fulfill a demand isn't backed by an appropriate budget.
